Do you find it difficult to drink enough water every day? I’ve heard all the reasons under the sun from clients and others about why they just can’t seem to drink water every day, or at all!
I’ve gathered my top tips to help you drink more water, every day, below. If you have a favourite way to get your litres of H20 in, please feel free to share them in the comments!
1. Find a Water Bottle You Love
Finding a water bottle with a fun pattern that you love will help entice you to use your water bottle and drink more water. I would recommend avoiding plastic water bottles and choosing glass and stainless steel. Glass would allow you to see how much water you have left to drink! Klean Kanteen and Manna have some really nice ones.
2. Take Your Water With You
If you’re constantly on-the-go, make sure you’re setting yourself up for water drinking. Use a purse that is big enough to hold your water bottle, or use a knapsack that has a water bottle pocket.
3. Flavour It!
If you complain that “water has no taste” and is therefore boring, then you should probably flavour your water to make it more enticing for your tastebuds. (Although, honestly…water is SO satisfying and the clean, fresh taste should be enough for you to drink it..but I digress…) Try adding the following to flavour it up:
-
Blueberries
-
Strawberries
-
Lemon juice
-
Mint and lime (think mojito water!)
-
Raspberries
-
Watermelon and basil
4. Make Time Limits
Tell yourself that you’ll drink 1 litre by noon, and another litre by 4 pm. Setting time limits will help you keep your hydration on track. In fact, as soon as you wake up, chug some water. Your body has been busy detoxing all night and this requires a lot of water.
5. Eat Your Water
Another way to stay hydrated is to eat foods that are high in water content.
These foods include:
-
Cucumber
-
Celery
-
Watermelon
-
Lettuces
